Microcurrent blog by Live Young Lifestyles

What is Microcurrent?

Microcurrent refers to the low levels of electricity that are passed into the skin between two probes. This causes micro-contractions of the muscles.

What are the benefits of Microcurrent?

When used on the face, Microcurrent retrains your facial muscles for improved facial contouring which results in a more lifted and toned face. Microcurrent also has been shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, boost circulation, and diminish facial puffiness through lymphatic drainage.

How Often Should I Use Microcurrent?

Microcurrent is essentially a workout for your face. But you need to be consistent! Just as you wouldn’t go to the gym only once a month, you need to be consistent for microcurrent to have any lasting effects on your skin. Although you may notice an immediate benefit in lifting and toning, if used consistently, the results are cumulative. Microcurrent can be done daily if desired, however, I use it once or twice a week for maintenance.

Does Microcurrent Effect Botox?

Yes! Botox temporarily paralyzes the muscles it is injected into. Microcurrent stimulates those muscles. Repeated stimulation of those muscles will cause Botox to not last as long. In fact, microcurrent is often used to rectify bad Botox. Thus, I don’t do microcurrent in areas where I have had Botox.

So, there you have it. If you want a toned and lifted face, you are going to want to add microcurrent to your beauty routine. It DOES work, but consistency is key!
